Applying to IFM programmes is simple and our friendly Admissions Team is here to help you. 


News Release: We would like to bring to your attention that should you have difficulty meeting all the diploma requirements during this exceptional period, you may take the IFM entry test online.

You can apply in the following ways:

Undergraduate requirements

To apply for the programme, you need to complete and submit the following before the application deadline.

• A completed application form
• A 300-400 word cover letter
• High school diploma, Baccalaureate, A levels, Maturite or equivalent
• Copies of academic transcripts and certificates (in English)
• For non-native English speaker, provide proof of your English proficiency
• A letter of reference from your school or one of professors (if possible)
• A copy of your passport photograph (ID) page
• One recent passport-sized, colour photograph, jpeg format, of yourself
• A non-refundable application fee of CHF/EUR 150.-

Language test requirements: IELTS (6.0), TOEFL (80 ibt) or equivalent, In-house IFM / online English test (fees apply)
Please note that you may be exempt from taking an English language test, if you studied in English. 

Interviews: Most candidates will be assessed for admission based on their submitted application material. However, IFM reserves the right to invite candidates for an interview and to reject those who decline to attend.
International student: we can organise an oline interview.

International Students: proof of financial means to pay for the course (letter or bank statement). See International (above)

Transfer students
IFM welcomes transfer students from accredited institutions. See Transfer

You have followed a different academic path: We can evaluate your level and provide guidance.


Postgraduate requirements

To apply for the program, you need to submit the following before the application deadline.

• A completed application form

• Official undergraduate diploma : Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• Copies of academic transcripts and certificates (in English or French)
• A resumé / curriculum vitae showing your professional experience if applicable*
• For non-native English speaker, provide proof of your English proficiency
• A copy of your passport photograph (ID) page
• One recent passport-sized, colour photograph, jpeg format, of yourself
• A non-refundable application fee of CHF/EUR 150.-
• International student : proof of financial means to pay for the course

*Professional experience
- Full-time MBA: professional experience is considered an asset but not a prerequisite. If you do not have work experience, you may attach a letter of reference from your school or one of your professors (if possible).
- Executive MBA: a minimum of 3 years of professional experience.

International students

At IFM, we welcome students and faculty from 50 nationalities.

1. We have extensive experience with applications from around the world and each application is looked at carefully, taking into account results, professional experience, age etc.

2. Admissions requirements: are the same for all students

3. Deadlines: completed applications must be received at least 3 months before the chosen entry period if you are an international student living outside of Europe:

4. Financing: Tution fees are the same for all students. International students must show evidence of sufficient financial means (letter and / or bank statement) to study, while applying. Scholarships: please note that IFM is a private institution. IFM offers a limited number of partial scholarships to local students only. For more information, please contact admissions@ifm.ch or call us.

5. Full acceptance & visa: if you need to apply for an international student visa to study in Switzerland, we will send you the relevant visa support documentation, once we receive the completed registration form and the payment of the tuition fees.

Transfer students

IFM welcomes transfer students from other institutions.

Students must request a credit transfer when they apply and submit their official transcripts and a description/syllabus of the credited courses. Credit transfers are granted if the courses previously studied match those of our curriculum.

We also welcome applications from students with an associate degree, a higher diploma or having completed 2 years of post-secondary studies.

  • Prepare your application

    Step 1

    a. Choose your programme.
    b. Gather the supporting documents for your application mentionned above : diploma, transcript, motivation letter, passport, photo, application fee... > details

  • Send your complete file 

    Step 2

    Fill out the application form, transfer or email your documents and pay the application fee. If you need help, contact IFM.   > online application

  • Admissability & offer

    Step   3

    A decision will be communicated within 10 days
    After assessing whether you meet our entry requirements, we will either make you an offer, or notify you that you have been unsuccessful.

    a. If you have graduated and met all entry requirements you will receive an unconditional offer.
    b. If you have not completed your exams, or are waiting for your diploma and/or the results, or have yet to submit supporting documentation, the offer will be conditional.

  • Enrollment

    Step 4

    Accepting the offer
    If you wish to accept our offer, you must then: 

    Fill out the final registration form and send it back to us via email. Proceed to payment of the registration fee and the advance tuition fees. Upon receipt of your acceptance and the completed registration form, we will send a confirmation and issue the final set of documents.

  • If you are an international student

    Step 5

    If you need to apply for an international student visa to study in Switzerland, we will send you the relevant visa support documentation after step 4 only. Note: the letter of admission does not allow you to obtain a visa.
