Family business is the most common type of business organization in the world. The challenges faced by family-owned companies are huge. IFM is one of the first Business Schools in Europe to offer a major in Family Business.

The curriculum of this Bachelor course has been developed through interaction with family businessmen, entrepreneurs and academics. This program is mainly for the next generation of family business owners so that they can obtain professional education in management.

This BBA is interdisciplinary and gives a solid foundation on all aspects of business. In addition, this specialization provides students with the knowledge and skills to understand ways to manage family organizations and business interaction, to increase business performance, to make the right investment choices, to make strategic decisions and to achieve growth in the business and sustainability. The course explores the challenges of family business continuity, leadership skills, best management practices, career and personal issues specific to family-owned and managed companies.

Employability : our bachelor offers an innovative approach to studies by using current industry examples, discussions, case studies, problem-solving and group work. The curriculum has been designed to give you real-life business skills.

Admissions

IFM offers 3 intakes per year : January, April and October.

To apply for the programme, you need to complete and submit the following before the application deadlines.

Undergraduate requirements
• An application form
• A 300-400 word motivation letter
• High school diploma, Baccalaureate, A levels, Maturite or equivalent
• Copies of academic transcripts and certificates (in English)
• If not a native English speaker, provide proof of your English proficiency
• A letter of reference from of your school or one of your professors (if possible)
• A copy of your passport photograph (ID) page
• One recent passport-sized, colour photograph, jpeg format (of yourself)
• A non-refundable application fee of CHF/EUR 150.-

Language test requirements : In-house IFM, IELTS (6.0), TOEFL (80 ibt) or equivalent.

International Students : proof of financial means to pay for the course. (letter or bank statement)
