Undergraduate requirements


To apply for the programme, you need to complete and submit the following documents before the application deadline.

• A completed application form

• A 300-400 word cover letter

• Copy of your official secondary school diploma: Baccalaureate, A levels, Maturite or equivalent

• Copies of your academic transcripts and certificates (translated in English or French)

• For non-native English speakers, please provide proof of your English proficiency (see language test requirements below)

• A letter of reference from a teacher or academic counsellor (if possible)

• A copy of your passport photograph (ID) page

• One recent passport format, colour photograph (jpeg), of yourself for the student ID card.

• A non-refundable application fee of CHF/EUR 150.- , online, via bank transfer (bank details below) in-person.

International students: proof of financial means to pay for the course (official letter or bank statement from your guarantor).



Language test requirements: IELTS (6.0), TOEFL (80 ibt) or equivalent, In-house IFM / online English test (fees apply)

Please note that you may be exempt from taking an English language test, if you studied in English.


Interviews: Most candidates are evaluated based on their application materials. However, IFM may invite candidates for an interview and reserves the right to reject those who decline. For international students, online interviews can be arranged.


If you are waiting for results or a diploma: We will give you a conditional offer, should you be accepted. The procedure is the same, but you will attach your provisional results and you will send your final results or your diploma later.


If you have followed a different academic path: We can assess your level and offer guidance if your educational background is unconventional.


Postgraduate requirements

To apply for the programme, you need to submit the following documents before the application deadline.

• Copy of your official undergraduate diploma or certification/proof of degree completion: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

• Copies of your official undergraduate transcripts/ certificates (translated in English or French)

• A resume / curriculum vitae showing your professional experience if applicable*

• For non-native English speakers, please provide proof of your English proficiency (see language test requirements below)

• A copy of your passport photograph (ID) page

• One recent passport format, colour photograph (jpeg), of yourself for the student ID card.

• A non-refundable application fee of CHF/EUR 150.- via bank transfer (see bank details below, over the phone with a credit card, in-person).

• International students: proof of financial means to pay for the course (official letter or bank statement from your guarantor).

*Professional experience

Full-time MBA: professional experience is considered an asset but not a prerequisite. If you do not have work experience, you may attach a letter of reference from your university or one of your professors (if possible).

- Executive MBA: a minimum of 4 years of professional experience is required.

International students


At IFM, we welcome students and faculty from around the world (50 nationalities).

1. We have extensive experience with applications from around the world and each application is looked at carefully, taking into account results, professional experience, age etc.

2. Admissions requirements are the same for all students.

3. Deadlines: completed applications must be received 4 months before the chosen entry period if you are are a non-EU passport holder.

4. Financing: Tuition fees are the same for all students. International students must show evidence of sufficient financial means (letter and/or bank statement) to study, while applying.

Scholarships: please note that IFM is a private institution. IFM offers a limited number of partial scholarships. For more information, please contact admissions@ifm.ch or call us.

5. Full acceptance & visa: If you need to apply for an international student visa to study in Switzerland, we will send you the relevant visa support documentation, once we receive the completed registration form and the payment of the tuition fees.

IFM welcomes transfer students from other institutions. (Bachelor’s program only)


IFM accepts transfer students. Applicants must request credit transfer at the time of application and submit official transcripts and course descriptions/ syllabi. Credits are transferred if the courses align with our curriculum. We also welcome applications from students who have completed 2 years of post-secondary education.

  • Prepare your application & documents

    Step 1

    a. Choose your programme and your intake.
    b. Gather the supporting documents mentioned above for your application : copy of diploma, copy of transcripts, motivation letter, passport, photo, proof of financial meansapplication fee... > details

  • Submit Your Application

    Step 2

    • Complete the application form using our online system.
    • Upload supporting documents through our online system and then pay the application fees [ pay the fees ]

  • Admissability & offer

    Step  3

    A decision will be communicated within 10 days
    • After verifying your eligibility, we will either extend an offer or inform you of an unsuccessful application.
    • 4a. With graduation and all requirements met, you’ll receive an unconditional offer.
    • 4b. If still completing exams, awaiting diploma/results, or pending documents, your offer will be conditional.
    • Expect an email decision within 10 days of us receiving your full application.

  • Accept the admission offer & enroll

    How to accept your offer
    To secure your seat in the program, you must then complete the following steps:

    a. Fill out the final registration form and send it back to us via upload or email
    b. Proceed to the payment of the registration fee and the advance tuition fees. 
    • Once we receive your acceptance and completed form, we will send confirmation and the final set of document

  • If you are an international student

    Step 5

    If you need to apply for an international student visa to study in Switzerland, we will send you the relevant visa support documentation after step 4 only. Note: the letter of admission does not allow you to obtain a visa.
